Chief Islander attends State Opening of Parliament

On Tuesday 10th May 2022 Tristan Chief Islander James Glass was a guest in the Royal Gallery at the Palace of Westminster, as HRH Prince Charles announced the UK government’s plans for the year ahead at the State Opening of Parliament.
At a reception afterwards, he met the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, His Excellency Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti. As Eucharistic minister in the remotest Catholic parish on earth, James was delighted to meet Archbishop Gugerotti, whose role is effectively that of Papal ambassador.
