Apostolic Administrator Visits the Falklands

Newly appointed Father Tom Thomas IC, Apostolic Administrator of the Falkland Islands, is on his initial familiarisation visit to the Islands. He arrived on Thursday, 14 November via the airbridge and will be visiting venues in Stanley and in Camp for the next 10 days. It is expected that he will have a tour of MPA as well as a visit to the Argentine Cemetery at Darwin and the British Cemetery at Blue Beach San Carlos.
Fr Thomas is a British citizen and has served the dioceses of England and Wales in a number of capacities working as a priest or assistant priest in Cardiff, Rugby, Nottingham, and London and is currently Rector and Parish Priest of St Etheldreda’s Church, Ely Place, London and speaks English, Italian, Malayalam and Hindi, and has a working knowledge of Latin, Hebrew and Greek. His hobbies include reading, gardening, music and travel.
Born into a Catholic family in Kerala, India on 12 January 1972, Fr Tom was educated in the country from school to university and graduated with a BA in English Literature, Psychology and Sociology from Bangalore University in 1996.
Fr Tom is also the Ecclesiastical Superior of the Missions for the South Atlantic Islands of Ascension, St Helena and Tristan da Cunha.
