Tussock House open day
The Community Support Team will be working over the coming weeks to prepare Tussock House for the arrival of its first residents. Tussac House will provide an extra care facility to members of our community in a new state-of-the-art building, combining technology and person-centred care to enhance our residents’ independence.
The next phase, working towards our opening, will be enabling our existing residents and family members at Hillside House to view their new home and this will take place over the next two weeks. We anticipate that all going well, residents will be moving into the service from Monday 27 January 2025.
We understand that there are many future residents, family members and members of the public who would like to come and view the facility and Tussac House will be holding an open day on Friday 17 January 2025 10:00-14:00. Tours will take place on the hour at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00. This will be an opportunity to view the excellent facilities and meet Leigh Reid, the Falkland Islands Government’s Head of Care Services. Residency at Tussac House will be strictly on the basis of unmet care and support needs that cannot be adequately met in the community.
