Legislative Assembly marks the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
Today marks three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that has brought immense suffering to the Ukrainian people.
The Legislative Assembly of the Falkland Islands reaffirms its support for Ukraine and its people, who continue to fight for their sovereignty.
As a community that values and understands the importance of a people’s right to their sovereignty and self-determination, we stand in solidarity with those who are defending their homeland and their democratic freedoms.
We also extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by war and those who continue to live in fear and uncertainty. To honour this anniversary and show our support, the Ukrainian flag will fly alongside the Falkland Islands flag on Victory Green today. Our thoughts remain with the people of Ukraine as they continue their struggle for peace, freedom, and the right to determine their own future.
