Major Incident Exercise to Take Place
The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) wishes to advise the public that a joint FIG and BFSAI (British Forces South Atlantic Islands) major incident exercise will be held in the week commencing Monday 22 September.
The multi-agency exercise will involve concentrated activity on the outskirts of Stanley, where there will be real-time activity in a field location as well as movement within Stanley itself, including mobilisation of frontline services.
There are no planned restrictions to any areas usually accessible to the public in Stanley.
This important exercise is intended to ensure that the Islands-wide response to any potential major incident is well-rehearsed and can operate effectively in the event that a genuine emergency was to happen.
