Archivist Announcement: Completed Doctorate Thesis with Dundee University
By J Brock (FINN)
Following five years of study and research, Dr Chloe Anderson-Wheatley RMARA, Corporate Records & National Archives Manager, has completed her doctorate with the University of Dundee, in Archives & Records Management.
Dr Chloe Anderson-Wheatley’s thesis has been accepted/passed by my examiners, and its full title is: AN ARCHIVAL STUDY INTO THE EVOLUTION OF BRITISH COLONIAL IDENTITIES: A CASE STUDY OF THE NATIONAL IDENTITY OF THE FALKLAND ISLANDS 1840-2000.
The thesis itself engages with debates and discussions on archival studies, nationalism, Britishness, imperialism, and BOTs, to study how the structures and records of the National Archives of the Falkland Islands constructs, carries and projects the evolving national identity of the Islands.
The next Archives service update will be circulated next week, with wider updates on what our team have been up to and the latest documents that have been digitised and uploaded to the website.
