Legislative Assembly marks Saint Helena Day

The Legislative Assembly sends warm greetings to the people of Saint Helena on Saint Helena Day.

Today marks the anniversary of the island’s discovery in 1502, and we join Saint Helenians both in the Falklands, and in Saint Helena, in celebrating their rich history and culture.

The Falkland Islands and Saint Helena share much as British Overseas Territories, including our commitment to self-governance, our strong community spirit, and our unique place in the South Atlantic. Saint Helenians, for generations, have contributed greatly to the rich and diverse culture which the Falklands enjoys. The Saint Helena Flag flies on Victory Green this evening in recognition of those bonds.

We wish the people of Saint Helena a happy Saint Helena Day.
