STANLEY SUFFERS ANOTHER GORSE FIRE

On Sunday night at dusk, Stanley was hit with another gorse fire, this time on Reservoir near the Community School. Thanks to the sterling efforts of the fire service, the fire was brought under control and subsequently extinguished. Fire Services will keep an eye on the area in case there are any flair-ups.
Two years ago a gorse fire destroyed the bushes on Ross Road West, damaged Sure’s office, and threatened nearby homes. There have been cries for gorse to be removed from Stanley.
