WORLD ELDERLY ABUSE AWARENESS DAY
The Health & Social Care Portfolio would like to thank everyone for their participation in World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Wednesday, 15 June 2022. We were pleased with the response within our community and for the varied action of events in recognition of the day.
For those of us who signed the pledge we have now become a champion of elder abuse prevention and have pledged to stand up for the rights of our elderly people. By intervening, we can help bring safety, health and dignity back to an elderly person in need.
May we continue to work together to ensure that our elderly generation and every individual is treated with respect and to live a life free from fear, harm and abuse, with dignity and respect. There is no excuse for elderly abuse!
Again, a very big thank you to you all for your valued participation.
