107 Eun Hae Grounding Update
The jigger 107 Eun Hae remains grounded off Settlement Cove, Saunders Island, with 38 crew onboard, with no injuries sustained.
The vessel has shifted over time with the wind conditions and tidal variation and her list increased beyond previous maxima on today’s falling tide, causing some concern over the lunch time period. Contingency plans were put in place with FPV Lilibet and local boat owners to evacuate non-essential crew members to Saunders settlement, but the need did not arise.
BFSAI tug Dintelstroom departed Port William at lunchtime and is now en route to Saunders Island with the Chief Pilot onboard, arriving early tomorrow. The aim remains to attempt to re-float the 107 Eun Hae around high water at 09:30 tomorrow.
FPV Lilibet is in Port Egmont providing oversight of the 107 Eun Hae and standing by to assist in in the re-floating operation.
