Public Consultation on Draft Marine Managed Areas Policy To Take Place

 

Executive Council (ExCo) has approved the launch of a public consultation on the draft Marine Managed Areas Policy.

 

The consultation will give stakeholders and the wider community the opportunity to feed back on the proposals before they are finalised. The consultation will take place in early 2026, to allow for the upcoming General Election and pre-election period.

 

The draft policy sets out a framework for the designation and management of Marine Managed Areas in the Falkland Islands, with the aim of ensuring long term conservation while supporting sustainable economic and social development.

Details of the consultation process will be announced closer to the time.
