BOIL WATER UNTIL FRIDAY STANLEY RESIDENTS TOLD

On Sunday the PWD Water Department informed the public that due to an issue with the supply of raw water to the filtration plant, the tanks had fallen below the normal operating level.  A subsequent drop in water pressure affected most of Stanley, with properties closer to the harbor retaining reduced gravitational pressure. Nonetheless, PWD’s water section prioritized water supply to the KEMH.

FIVE ARGENTINE SOLDIERS EXHUMED AT DARWIN CEMETARY

The remains of five former Argentine combatants were exhumed from a collective grave in the Darwin cemetery, as part of the identification work carried out by a team from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Samples will be taken from each one and then analyzed and compared with blood from relatives in the laboratory that the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF) has in Córdoba.  Originally four bodies were expected in the multiple tomb and not five.

ITQ scheme for the Falkland Islands agreed by ExCo

Executive Council has approved the referral of the Fisheries (Conservations and Management) (Amendment) Bill 2021 to the Legislative Assembly next month. The bill will enable the implementation of a revised ITQ (Individual Transferable Quota) scheme (known as ITQ B), with licences to fish catch entitlement due to come into force from January 2023.
